Dazed & Confused Magazine | Feb ’11
Creative rebellion sets the tone at the start of this year, as bold young actress Andrea Riseborough takes centre stage for the cover of February Dazed, in an Asian-inspired photo shoot by Rankin and senior fashion editor Katie Shillingford. This year’s hottest new talent talks about her remarkable performance alongside Sam Riley in the upcoming adaptation of Graham Green’s classic gangster novel, Brighton Rock.
Dazed’s February Asian fashion focus is inspired by a strong Asian trend in the Spring/Summer 11 womenswear collections. At its heart is an exclusive interview and archive shoot with the reclusive Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto, ahead of his upcoming retrospective exhibition at the V&A.
Hussein Chalayan also reveals how his S/S11 collection was inspired by Japanese culture, in this issue modeled by Kiko Mizuhara, the young Japanese fast-rising model and actress who is starring in the anticipated film adaptation of Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood.
Also in Dazed this month, cultural provocateur K-Punk writes on the newly militant youth protest movement, P. Diddy introduces his new girl supergroup Dirty Money, France’s leading man Vincent Cassel turns on the charm, and highly influential artist Barbara Kruger reveals the roots of her art of resistance.
