”Boxer is a carnal and unrequited obsession. Boxer is the dark place you go to feel alive and liberated. Boxer is standing at the edge of your mind wondering if you’ll survive the jump.”- Felix And The Future
ABOUT THE VIDEO SHOOT:
”I’d been planning this video for several years when I was last in Mexico City and I discovered Xochimilco, the Mayan Riviera. I knew I wanted to shoot a funeral scene there. We had a 14 hour layover in Mexico City on our way home from Costa Rica, where I shot my last video, Family Tree. On the plane ride home I told my co-director and crew that we are going to use our 14 hour layover to have an insane boat ride at Xochimilco and shoot another video for a song that wasn’t finished yet. I showed them the gimp mermaid costumes and the faceless tiger, and everyone was really excited. It was by far the best 14 hours I can recall. Mexico City conjures creativity from a part of me that lays dormant in other cities. Mexico City is the perfect place for a merman funeral. ”
