Nike continue the iridescent love with this Quick Strike release of a Blazer Mid for the ladies.
As 2015 gets closer and closer we expect to see more and more nods to Back To The Future. This is an easy one – cover something in iridescent. Although it’s not purely BTTF, it is pretty synonymous with Marty’s cap while in the future, in Nike MAGs. Who knows, maybe I’m biased as a huge BTTF fan and someone who’s been excited for the arrival of 2015 aka “The Future” for a long long time.
Regardless of the reference or lack of reference, here we see Nike Sportswear drip a Blazer Mid in iridescent material, a silhouette that has been rather lacking in attention lately after it’s year or so in the spotlight. A popping fresh white midsole, ice outsole and metallic laces finish off this women’s model with those added details that make a shoe great. Again, I must state that I am biased towards both a white midsole and an ice outsole, but who isn’t?
A little geeky fact for those who care… the Blazer, originally released in 1972, was Nike’s first basketball shoe and marks their entry into what is now one of their most important sports and markets. Also, it was one of the first Nike shoes to get a women’s specific version. There are a few facts to entertain/bore your friends with.
The Nike Blazer Mid Premium QS “Iridescent” (Women’s) drops on 16th August at Nike.com and select retailers.
