Levi’s Partners With Liberty Of London

LEVI’S has teamed up with Liberty of London on a womenswear collection for spring. The classic American label has produced a selection of denim separates that feature two new Liberty prints – created exclusively for the partnership.

The partnership marks the first time that Levi’s women’s department has collaborated with another label.

“It’s been such an inspiring creative process to share our American heritage and perspective with this quintessential British brand to create a collection that is feminine and whimsical with a modern edge,” said Jenny Carlin, Levi’s senior designer.

The denim silhouettes featured in the collection were sourced from the Levi’s archive, representing some of the brand’s most popular pieces. Similarly, the garden flower prints were based on a Liberty pattern from the Seventies – redrawn with watercolour pencils and put into a repeat design – and the bandana print was based on a Pointillist painting from the Liberty archive that dates back to 1940.

“Working with the world leader in denim has opened up our print house to a new global customer,” said Ed Burstell, Liberty London managing director. “We are honoured to be the first brand Levi’s has partnered with on their women’s line and can’t wait to have the collection swinging in our store.”

The Levi’s X Liberty London collection features 15 pieces including the famous Levi’s 501 shorts, a trucker jacket, boyfriend jeans, a bustier top and a selection of accessories, with prices ranging from £75 to £210.

The collection will be available to buy exclusively at Liberty London on Regent Street from today, before landing in select Levi’s stores worldwide in early May. It will also be available to buy online at liberty.co.uk and levi.com next month. Thanks to Sarah Karmali and vogue.co.uk  for the news.

Fashion Campaign – Armani Code Ultimate Review

Armani Code Ultimate is a follow up to the signature Giorgio Armani Fragrance Armani Code from 2004. It has launched in August 2012. The new edition aims to be more intense, sensual and luxurious than its predecessor. The composition is signed by Antoine Maisondieu of Givaudan.

Watch the video below:

The top notes are shaped like a pungent mix of citruses (grapefruit and mandarin orange), juxtaposed to the unmistakable accord of star anise. Then, as the scent advances into its mid development stage, Code Ultimate turns to a floral woody facet highlighted by accords of cedar, cypress and heliotrope. After more than one hour, I was able to perceive the first accords from the dry down, in which the most obvious were the accords of vanilla and olive blossom, joined later by a combination which involved Tonka bean and guaiac wood in the composition.

The bottle is made from the same dark blue opaque glass with curvy shapes, except this time the stopper comes in gold, in order to differentiate it from the original.

“Hello, Sailor!” WILDFOX Summer 2013

Hello Sailor! One of the most iconic images that exude confidence and femininity is none other than the 1950s pin-up girl. The vintage artwork is still used to showcase beautiful women of all shapes and sizes, which embodies the same cheeky and outgoing personality of a Wildfox girl.

Designer Kimberly Gordon drew inspiration from 1950’s culture for the collection stating, “I’ve always been a big fan of pin-up art, it’s so extremely American and the history behind the pin-up girl is so interesting. I grew up collecting cheesecake books, I starred as Sandy in the school production of Grease, I listened to Elvis constantly and memorized every oldie I could get my hands on.”

Summer 2013 is all about making girls feel beautiful!  U.S.A.-inspired tees and sweaters with fun Americana graphics such as a sequin “U.S.A.” across a tight knit White Label sweater, “I Want You” on our signature Cassidy Tank, and an intarsia knit “Red Cross” on an oversized cardigan.  Our endlessly comfortable baggy beach jumpers and gypsy hoodies are adorned with milkshakes, French poodles, and cherries, taking our Wildfox girls right back to a 50’s malt shop!

”Coming within the next two weeks is our summer collection of pin up inspired clothing!! We had so much fun designing this and shooting it. It stars our muse, the brilliant model Valerie Van Der Graaf, who is the ultimate pin-up girl, and is shot by me. I hope you guys enjoy it and are inspired to read the history of the pin up girl…”
