Kanye West Reportadly Sells Matte Black Lamborghini Aventador for $444,995.

Just last year, Kanye West received a gloss black Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 from his then new girlfriend Kim Kardashian. Fast forward to 2013 and the recent announcement that Kim is pregnant with Kanye’s child, the rapper has prompted him to reportedly sell his beloved supercar with the help of Calabasas Luxury Motor Cars to make way for a new, child-friendly, Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG.

Despite Kanye West being captured driving in his Aventador – which was wrapped matte black just after he received it – multiple times, the listing claims that the car has only travelled 1,433 miles meaning this is basically a brand new Aventador!

It’s yet to be confirmed whether or not this is indeed as it features black brake calipers compared to the yellow ones fitted to Kanye’s, but it could in fact be his. Although it’s currently unclear the exact price the car sold for, it was up for grabs for $444,995. Thanks to gtspirit for the news.

Fashion Business: Tom Ford Plots World Domination

TOM FORD wants his label to be the world’s leading luxury fashion brand, overtaking current international fashion giants such as Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Chanel.

“If not number one, then number two,” he said. “I could and will, certainly within the next 10 years, if not sooner. But I think that there are very few people in the world that could. I say that in the most humble way, meaning that I’ve had every advantage that anyone could possibly have. I had enough money to self-finance. I had a well-known name. I had 20 years of experience working for very big companies with no fear of scale.”

The designer, who hosted his first full-scale show in London in February, notes that with such success comes certain hazards.

“By the time you get to number one or number two, you have to start to make a ton of stuff you don’t like, and you sort of have to be making ugly $300 (£196), bags that are selling in China. The top three companies, let’s say, in terms of volume – they are. You’d be really surprised at some of the frightening products that you have to generate if you want to go to that scale.”

Despite his high goals, Ford stressed the importance of not taking on too much – something he is predisposed to doing – because it has the potential to “deteriorate the quality of life”.

“It’s like everything in your life is wonderful, but you have so much wonderful – this is all going to sound horrible – but when you have so much wonderful, it isn’t wonderful because you don’t actually have time to enjoy it,” he told WWD. “I remember talking to Karl [Lagerfeld] years ago when I was at Gucci, and we were having dinner, just the two of us. I said, ‘Karl, so many amazing things are happening, and they’re happening so fast and I feel like I can’t take it in.’ And he said, ‘You won’t be able to take it in. But later you’ll look back at it and then you’ll be able to take it in and appreciate it.” Thanks to Ella Alexander and vogue.co.uk for the news.

Fashion Business: Lanvin Managing Director Resigns

LANVIN managing director Thierry Andretta has resigned due to “personal reasons”, a statement from the brand recently. The businessman has served in the role since 2009.

The operational management of the firm will now be led by the label’s chief operating officer, Michèle Huiban, a request of majority owner chairman and CEO Shaw-Lan Wang. According to WWD, Andretta and Wang had differences over the fashion house’s strategy.

Since Andretta joined Lanvin, revenues nearly doubled to €240 million (£203.9 million). He is widely credited for boosting the brand’s global retail expansion, introducing a childrenswear line and for making accessories easily identifiable as Lanvin products.  Thanks to Ella Alexander and vogue.co.uk for the news.

Strand Craft Expands its Luxury Fleet with New Stand Craft 166 Megayacht

How will the neighbors at the marina ever know that you’ve got a world-class supercar if you have to keep it tucked away in the garage while you’re out sailing the Mediterranean? The shipwrights at Strand Craft have the perfect solution. Earlier this year we brought you plans for the Strand Craft 122, and followed that with particulars of its availability. Now the shipyard has returned with an even bigger, more impressive design.

Meet the Strand Craft 166, a modern yacht that comes with its very own high-horsepower supercar tucked in the aft. The wheeled machine in question will reportedly wield a 620-horsepower V8, and Stand Craft claims that the vehicle will clip off a top speed of 189 mph. Of course, you could order your own choice of hot wheels be it Koenigsegg, Maybach, Lamborghini or a Ferrari.

It’s a fitting trinket to go along with a yacht that packs a hidden Jacuzzi tucked into the bow, a retractable fly bridge that tucks away the ship’s radar arrays when not in use and a whopping total of five state rooms. Each of the suites is loaded with 52-inch Bang & Olufsen TVs with iPad controls.

The power behind this creation is astonishing. It uses two MTU 20V4000 M93L, turbocharged V20 diesel engines, each outputting 4300kW, and, an additional Vericor TF50 gas turbine booster engine supplementing 4177kW. So all up, the SC166 superyacht offers 12777kW of power. Strangely, the top speed offering isn’t all that great, just 40 knots (74km/h).

The SC 166 comes with the option of having upholstery made from an exclusive Japanese Samurai tread leather. These custom designed leathers are woven from a bullet-proof textile made of Vectran fibres. Optionally all walls can be covered in Samurai leather to make it a bullet proof yacht.

A Grey Design press release recently summed it up perfectly, saying: Her low stance, enormous length and curled haunches give this vessel a dynamic aesthetic that is guaranteed to turn heads in the the most well appointed marinas. It sure would.

Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Flying Tourbillon – Limited Edition Watches polished in 18 Carat White Gold

This is the watch for serious Cartier watch lovers. It represents the brand’s current desire to prove to you that they are serious about watch making, not just making classy looking watches.

Flagships in each of its respective collections, these collector’s watches are unique because they take a familiar beauty that Cartier is known for and give them clever mechanical twists. Take this provocative Rotonde de Cartier Skeleton Flying Tourbillon watch. In the newer Rotonde-style case, Cartier has developed a thin movement suspended in the middle, as its edges are cut-out to create the distinctive Cartier Roman numeral hour markers, which are actually all part of the movement plate.

This is the New Mercedes-Benz CLA Compact Sports Saloon

While some people are enjoying Christmas Eve with their families, others are busy posting on forums and leaking official shots of new cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLA compact saloon.

A total of five images of the new Mercedes entry-level sedan including three of the exterior and two of the interior made their way online.

As was the case with the revealing CLA scoops in Iceland this past September, the car pictured here is a regular model fitted with Mercedes’ AMG exterior and interior styling packages and not the CLA 45 AMG, which will feature a similar aero kit but will do away with the “diamond” front grille

Being that it will be the first member of Mercedes-Benz’s extended family of A-Class-based compact models to be offered in the States, the CLA is anticipated to make its world premiere on this side of the Atlantic, possibly as early as next month’s Detroit Motor Show.

Naturally, the engine lineup will be shared with the A-Class hatchback offering consumers a variety of turbocharged four-cylinder diesel and petrol units, including a 2.0-liter gasoline powerplant with 208hp (211PS) for the CLA 250 BlueEFFICIENCY, and a heavily tuned version of the same engine delivering 350-horsepower and 332 lb-ft (450Nm) for the all-wheel drive CLA 45 AMG.

Mercedes’ newly developed 4AMTIC all-wheel drive system for cars with front-wheel drive will be offered as an option on other CLA models as well.
