World’s Most Valuable Vinyl | Sex Pistols’ God Save The Queen

A rare  Sex Pistols’ single God Save the Queen has been named the world’s most valuable vinyl disc. Existing copies of the single are worth about $12,600, according to Record Collector. The single was originally produced by A&M Records. But the group were dropped before it was released and most of the copies were destroyed.

Record Collector magazine have compiled a list of the 51 most collectible vinyl records. Top of the list is the rare Sex Pistols’ single. The second-most valuable record is a first pressing of The Beatles’ first album, Please Please Me, worth about $5,500 if found in mint condition. Ian McCann, editor of Record Collector magazine said, There is something of an investment in mint-condition copies of iconic albums. The problem is people love them and play them to death, making it increasingly rare to find them in mint condition.

If you own a copy of the commercial single, which was released by A&M in 1977, you can consider that seven-inch slab of vinyl a reasonable investment to add to your financial portfolio. ( ( Record Collector )
